Dillahunt, wife Tiffany??

“I was one of the best kept secrets in the U.S. Military. They are embarrassed by me... shocked by me.”

In 1979, a troubled young man, Stephen Davis, entered the US Air Force. This story is about him.

In 1983, Tiffany Johnson became an Army spouse when she married Sgt. William Dillahunt. This story is about her.

In 1990, the Army Criminal Investigation Command, with help from the State Department and the Pentagon, discovered a shocking fact. Stephen Davis and Tiffany Dillahunt were the same person.

Put a combination of “The Crying Game” and “M Butterfly” in the US Military, call it a true story, and you wouldn’t have half of the extraordinary adventure of this charismatic young man who longed for life as a woman.

Seeking refuge in the most unlikely of places, Stephen escaped from Youngstown, Ohio by enlisting in an all too welcoming Air Force. Through a military tour spending days as Airman Davis, nights as Tiffany... through seven “marriages” to strapping sergeants and captains blinded or indifferent to the truth... to a prostitution ring servicing the generals to the privates of Ft. Hood... to finally finding “true love” with a naive country boy in the Army... Stephen ne: Tiffany was an unusual military secret.

When Army Intelligence stumbled over what they were afraid was the truth, they tried to bury it, to force a divorce and keep it quiet. Don’t ask, don’t tell. But Tiffany was a woman scorned, and devastated, and she went to the newspapers. The scandal broke in the Army Times, Tiffany is prepared to tell her story, and yet jaws still drop with the inevitable question…  “Is this really true?” Yeah, it is.
